Wednesday, February 19, 2014 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

For a change, Steve and I decided to get out for an early morning walk before breakfast...okay..."early morning" for us was about 8:30. We'd been up since 6:00...as I've said many times, we are early risers, we just don't get moving very fast...lol!

After our walk, I made a big breakfast...including pancakes (don't have them very often!). While I cleaned up the kitchen, Steve went over to borrow Earl's portable sani-station so he could fill our fresh water tank. I did a little banking and budget work...and next thing we knew, it was after noon and time to get ready for an ATV ride at 1:00.

Bob had finished fixing the their RZR side-by-side and the only way to check to see if the 4x4 kicks in is to take it out and give it a try. So we're all going to go out for an afternoon ride and do a little geocaching. Today, a new neighbor, Keith (from Colorado) is joining us, so there are 5 quads (Earl, Keith, Bob, Steve and I) and Sue in the RZR.

Our first stop was at the site of an old mine...here is Sue coming up the hill in the RZR...

Earl and Bob at the mine entrance...

Inside the mine...the tunnel went quite far before it tee'd off. It didn't go far to the left but to the right it went a long way...
Bob taking a look up...

Coco and Bandit...

Earl looking a little spooky!
and away we go...

Heading to Erdman cabin and mine site...

Toilet bowl flower pots at Erdman cabin......

We found our very first FTF (first to find) geocache!

The cabin...
Inside the cabin...

Above the entrance door...
I signed the guest book...

And we're back on the trails again...

Up we go!
Nice view from up here...

Time to go down...and head home...

We were back home by 4:00...a great afternoon out on our quads and we found 3 geocaches, 2 of which were "first to finds".

  2. Great pictures. Where is the Erdman cabin and mine? We didn't know about this one and would like to go find it.

    1. Get onto Pipeline Rd west of I-95, turn left at Ave 22E which is also Cholla Rd, the road will eventually Y, go right onto Erdman Rd. Here are the co-ordinance fo a geocache we found at the site.
