We had lunch and then got ready for our ride...it was shortly after 12:30 when Earl and Alison rode over. Art wasn’t feeling that well, so won’t be joining us. We are going to do a little geocaching...Earl and Alison have found all the caches around here but are going to help us get started on the hobby again. We are also going to go out and hide some caches...they have four they want to hide.
Steve's GPS worked fine...once he restored some of his custom settings. It seems the "reset" I did on it may have worked. Here we are at our first find...
And our second...
This one was really hard and I don't think without Earl and Alison's "hints" we would have found it. It was a micro-cache hidden in a small tube under a large rock...
We managed to find a number of caches...most seemed to be micro ones...this one is hidden in an old shotgun shell, hanging from a tree...
At least this one was a little bigger...
After a number of stops to find geocaches, we decided it was time to ride further out and hide some. Beautiful area with so many ATV trails to explore...although you really can't see it very well in the picture, Quartzsite is way off in the distance...
Here is Earl hiding one of his geocaches...
And another stop...this cache is going to be hidden inside the trunk of this dead tree...
Now we're going to find a spot up on the hill to hide this one...
More beautiful scenery...this is like riding through a teddybear cholla cactus forest...
It was just before 5:00 when we arrived home...what a great afternoon! After a quick stop at home to get cleaned up a bit, we went back over to Earl and Alison's for happy hour...along with Abby and Cara, their dogs...
We enjoyed an hour of chatting with them...Art also joined us..
And after witnessing another stunning sunset, it was time to head home. The end of another fabulous day on the desert.
