Tuesday and Wednesday, December 11 and 12, 2018 (Mesa, AZ)

Tuesday morning Steve packed his suitcase and then went out to dump the holding tanks. There is  a sewer connection on the opposite side of our sewer hose so Steve used his macerator to pump. While he was doing that, I finished packing all of the last minute things and prepared the inside...with so much wind over the last couple of days, we have decided it might be a good idea to pull in the slides while we are away.

We were all ready to go just before 11:30 and walked up to say goodbye to Dale and Chloe. A few minutes later, Dennis and Suzanne (my brother and sister-in-law) arrived, and after meeting and chatting with our hosts for a few minutes, we loaded our suitcases into their car and were off.

Dennis and Suzanne have "lucked into" a great spot in Mesa for a few months. Their friends own it and due to health problems, weren't coming down this year so offered it to them...sweet! So we are staying with them for a couple of nights before flying home. So lucky to get a visit in with them!

After stopping for a visit with friends of their's, we arrived at Dennis and Suzanne's place...a beautiful home located in the Leisure World development.
Steve playing with Dunkin...
We had a bite to eat...
...and then they took us for a walk around the facilities...
 Nice pool area...
And then we took Dunkin out for a walk....it's a huge development with well over 2000 homes!

The canals are beautiful...
Cool tree...

Apparently this bird is here every afternoon...
Lots of fish in some pretty yucky looking water...
A Heron...

Dennis grilled burgers and Suzanne made Caesar salad....a delicious dinner! And what would top that off? Well, pie and tea a little later while we watched a movie..."Wind River"!

A great afternoon and evening...and so wonderful catching up with you guys!

We all had a nice lazy start to the day Wednesday. After lots of coffee...and a bite to eat, we headed out for a drive around this huge complex....followed by a trip at Winco for a few groceries. By the time we had done that, it was time to go to the RV Resort where Dennis and Suzanne's friends are staying. Gene has a band and they are having a practice jam session, so we popped by for a listen...very good! They normally play at one of the local pubs on Fridays...
Some folks got up to line-dance...
There we are!
Their regular base player couldn't make it so another fellow filled in for him. During a break he went and got his tub, rope and pole and played base that way...was he ever good!
Back home, we took Dunkin for his afternoon walk...they have a beautiful golf course...
...and then sat outside in the sunshine with an adult beverage. I decided I should go on-line and check in for our flight tomorrow...I also printed off the boarding passes. Thanks for the use of the printer, Dennis! I rejoined everyone back outside but it soon got a little too chilly and we all retreated inside.
We watched another movie..."Sully"...a great movie that we've always wanted to see. We had no idea how much grief he went through after his successful ditching...poor guy. Then it was dinner time, followed by a little more TV.  So nice spending time with my brother and sister-in-law!

  1. Wow, that is quite the place there, looks like there are lot of amenities for the residents. Very nice that Dale and Chloe let you leave your rig there!

    1. It was nice leaving the rig somewhere where we didn't have to worry about it.

  2. Man that is a beauty place that they are staying at! Unfortunate for their friends of course. Nice to get a visit in before you leave.
