Sunday, September 30, 2018 (Headquarters Campground, Fundy National Park, NB)

As we drank our morning coffee, we were researching and trying to decide where to stay when we leave here. Our plan was to leave Tuesday and go to Saint John for two nights before crossing into Maine. But those plans got a wrench thrown into them when I called the campground to make reservations and was told they are closing for the season on Monday. Yes, the season is ending but most campgrounds seem to be staying open until after the Thanksgiving long weekend, but not that one.

We also decided to leave a day early, because Tuesday’s forecast is for rain. There wasn’t much to choose from in campgrounds in Saint John, so we looked further south towards the border. We decided on Saint Andrews and the Kiwanis Oceanfront Campground, only about 20 minutes from the Maine border. We will still have to stop in Saint John for a few groceries though.

With that decision made, Steve went off to have his shower…as I continued to laze in my chair researching campgrounds in Bar Harbor, Maine. It ended up being one of those mornings where it was almost 11 by the time I was showered and dressed.

Steve got back to work on picture editing…if it seems like that is all he does, it is, and he’s getting tired of it! But we’ve had an incredible summer and we need to document it for ourselves, our friends, family, and those who are interested.

While he was doing that, I went to the office and told them we were leaving a day early and got a refund. Once that was done, I settled in front of our old laptop researching our route from Bar Harbor to Elkhart, Indiana….we’ll have one week to get there. So unfortunately, we won’t be seeing as much of the eastern seaboard as we had hoped.

About mid-afternoon, Steve needed a break so we headed out for a walk down to the waterfront. It was a beautiful, sunny, crisp fall day....
 Love these 'red chairs'...
 Some fall colours happening!

We leave this beautiful place tomorrow...but we're looking forward to moving on!
