Friday, September 14, 2018 - Part 2 (Pine Hills RV Park, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island)

After finishing up at Green Gables, we continued west along highway 6. The scenery on this beautiful day was spectacular...as usual, pictures just don't do it justice!
The route takes us through the community of Stanley Bridge...

The Birthplace of the esteemed authoress, Lucy Maud Montgomery, is situated on the picturesque village of "Clifton", New London, PE on Route 6, overlooking the beautiful New London Harbour and the sand dunes of which she was to write so much about in later years. LM Montgomery was the authoress of the famous ANNE books, best known of which is Anne of Green Gables. Other books written by this famous authoress include "Pat of Silver Bush", "The Story Girl", "Rainbow Valley", and "The Emily Series".

French River...
Where the Farm Meets the Tide
Before you is French River, one of PEI's most famously picturesque fishing villages. Among the area's most unique features is the contrasting yet complimentary combination of water view and farmland within a single vista. It's this gentle mix that has led French River to become one of the Island's most sought after locations for artists, photographers, and visitors alike. While in the area, you can also visit one of PEI's famous sandy and secluded beaches, and take in the views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Cavandish Sandspit and from the hills overlooking New London Bay.

So pretty....
Heading out to sea...
Panoramic view...

Princetown United Church...
Malpeque...
Cabot Beach Provincial Park...the largest park in western PEI.

Beautiful beach!

Near the community of Hamilton...
Saint Mary / Holy Family Catholic Parish Church, Kensington...
Interesting steam formations puffing away from this facility...
...that leaves a steam ring...
A talented farmers use of bales of hay...

Summerside waterfront park...

A beautiful day to be out for a sail...
We decided on a spot in Summerside to stop for lunch. It was a brewpub in this cool area... unfortunately, it wasn't open...so we wandered around this unique area...

Deckhouse Pub and Eatery (yellow bldg,) had no signs posted indicating why they were closed...
Views of the marina from behind the buildings...
The building in the distance is where we ended up for lunch...
...at the Breakwater Bar and Grill...

Steve's panorama picture rather distorted me...LOL
After a bite to eat...we were back on the road...

Great views of the Confederation Bridge that links PEI to New Brunswick...
The curved, 12.9 kilometre (8 mile) long bridge is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water, and continues to endure as one of Canada's top engineering achievements of the 20th century.
We'll be taking it when we leave Prince Edward Island...

We stopped for ice cream in Victoria...

As we sat eating our ice cream we watched this fellow take a dip to cool off...

We completed the loop drive getting home after 6:00...another fabulous day! We absolutely loved the whole drive...Prince Edward Island is beautiful!
