Monday to Friday, September 24 to 28, 2018 (Headquarters Campground, Fundy National Park, NB)

It was chilly when we got up Monday morning...2C/35.6F outside. And it stayed chilly pretty well all day but the sky was blue and the sun was shining! It went up to a high of 12C/53.6F.

I spent a good part of the day comparing travel medical insurance. After all was said and done, we decided to stay with Costco Manulife...it seemed to be the best choice, money-wise, for us. While I was doing that, Steve did a few odd jobs around the rig.

By mid afternoon, we decided to get out for some fresh air...so we walked down to the park across from the visitors centre.

The visitors centre on the right....
On the way home, we decided to take a walk on part of a trail that goes alongside the campground...

They've been working on this section...
The trail goes on for quite a ways...unfortunately, I can't seem to find the name of the trail or any info about it. We thought we'd find a side trail that would take us back into the campground but we couldn't, so we ended up turning around.

We woke up to a very chilly morning on Tuesday...9.4 C/49F inside the trailer and 0C/32F outside! We had the heater going for most of the day and it wasn't until much later when it finally warmed up inside. But it was a lovely sunny day outside however, it only reached 15C/59F.

The trailer that was in site #2, where we are moving to today left early and the maintenance crew were there just after 9:00 trimming the low hanging branches so we could get into it. The park could certainly use a lot more pruning in some areas...Steve brushed through some driving to the new site.

Steve walked the satellite dish and some outside things down to the new site once the workers had finished their trimming. I packed up inside…at least I didn’t have to pack for a long travel day. After getting set up in our new site, I did a couple of loads of laundry...we’re closer to the laundry room now! There is only 1 washer and 1 dryer and is expensive at $3 each....yup, that's $6.00 per load. But it was convenient rather than packing all the laundry into the truck and driving into town.

Our new site...
We tried sitting outside in the late afternoon sunshine, but it ended up being too chilly, so we retreated inside. The forecast is for rain and wind to set in tonight and by bedtime we heard the pitter-patter of rain on roof.

Wednesday it rained...it was raining when we got up, and it continued to rain all day.  So, we had an inside day...reading, picture editing...oh, I did manage to walk over to the laundry room and get one final load of laundry done. And that was pretty much our day!

It was a very blustery night...we were woken up a lot by the wind and rain but by mid morning Thursday, the wind had finally died down and the rain had stopped.

After being inside all day yesterday, we wanted to get out for a walk, so we found the stairway that goes from the campground down to the road below, near Alma...

We walked by the Molly Kool Centre...but it wasn't open.
The Molly Kool Centre celebrates the life and legacy of the girl from Alma who became the first female seafaring captain in North America.
This carefully restored historic home  (circa 1840 post and beam construction) was the childhood home of Molly Kool. It's a venue for exciting and engaging programs, for special events and functions for all ages.
We said hello to a fellow fishing from the bridge...
He caught a nice fish!

We walked around town stopping at a few restaurants to check out their menus. As we headed back, we found a boardwalk just across the bridge that followed the bay. The sun even managed to pop out and it got quite warm...
The tide is in...

There we are way over there...it's pretty quiet in the campground...
Friday morning it started raining shortly after we got up and it rained all day...again! So it was basically another inside day...at least more picture and blog work got done!

The rain let up enough late afternoon to allow us to get out for a bit of a walk around the campground...

  1. Sounds like a cool and rainy week. 49 degrees! You are flirting with the temps we keep our rig at! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. The boardwalk looks like a much easier walk than the trail you were on. From the pics it looks like you were the only rig in the campground.Nice.

  4. Some cold weather but not too bad. You've really lucked out in the weather department. Love the boat shots.
