While I was doing that, Steve was in and out, talking to and lending tools to our neighbours. Steve actually met them, along with their travelling companions when we were at Pointe-au-Pere. And then yesterday, they showed up behind us at the rest area we had stopped for lunch in at Cap-Chat. We got to chatting with them and they wanted to know where we were headed. They didn't have a site booked for tonight. Anyway, to make a long story short, they ended up at Parc et Mer. One couple, Mike and Sheila, were right next door to us, and Phil and Sheila's sister, Sally, were in a back-in site a little ways away..
Turns out one of the slides on Mike and Sheila's motorhome wasn't operating properly. They discovered all the mounting bolts on the slide motor were sheared off so Steve lent Mike his drill to drill out the old bolts. After a trip to the hardware store for new bolts and material for a mounting modification they got it working as good as new.
After the work was done...fridge all defrosted and cleaned...yay!...it was time to get out for a walk around the campground. Another camping area behind and below the office...
We walked down there to get to the beach...We continued along the beach to the stairs that go back up top...next to the cottages...
Panorama photo of the bay...
There are a number of picnic shelters for the campers...
Back home, we managed to get another blog post done....getting there...very slowly!
Next thing we knew, it was time to sit out with a beverage and binoculars...and enjoy the view...
The site next to us vacated by Mike and Sheila this morning was filled by another RV this afternoon. Bob and Eliane stopped by while going for a walk and after chatting for a bit, we invited them to join us for happy hour. They are from Moncton and were a wealth of information about places to see. It was great talking with them!
After dinner, we noticed a cruise chip going by...
And a lovely sunset to end the day...
Sunday morning Steve and I decided to take a walk into town. It was absolutely beautiful...there was no (or little) wind.
Panorama photo of the bay...
We walked through town...pretty quiet on a Sunday morning...to a small grocery store where I picked up a dozen eggs. They have these nice beachfront bench areas to sit and view the beauty before you...
Tides out. The campground is just to the right of the excavator arm barely visible centre left...
The deck of this eatery was busy...
On the way home, we took a lower road along the water to what I believe is a community centre. There was supposed to have been a farmer's market today at 10 a.m., but apparently it happens whenever they decide to show up...
There was a band entertaining a small crowd...they were pretty good...
There is also a small bistro, pub...a pub space that will be used to broadcast more intimate shows. Just coffee being served when we took a look..
Back home, Steve worked on picture editing pretty well all afternoon. I sat outside admiring the view, doing a little crocheting, a little knitting and some reading...I even took a walk around the campground again. I think our grandsons, Conner and Bryce, would love to play here!
A reef goes out into the water...there are even some boys out on it...a ship on the horizon...
View from our site...
That's us in the middle...
Then it was time for a little socializing. Bob and Eliane invited us to join them down on the beach for happy hour...so with our chairs, and drinks, down the hill and stairs we went...
A family of paddle boarders coming in...
Turns out they were from Switzerland...
It was pretty hazy...smoke from fires in the west. A news broadcast from BC said smoke had even reached Ireland!
Another fabulous day...time to continue east tomorrow! This spot has been a nice break for us but other than the beauty of the area, there really isn't must to see or do here.
