Sunday, November 19, 2017 (Boondocking Site, Sedona, AZ)

We woke up to a very cold morning...Steve got up, put the coffee on, lit the propane heater and hurried right back to bed. Our thermometer said it was 27F/-3C outside and 39F/4C inside! Since it seemed like the water line was slightly frozen somewhere (the toilet wouldn't stop running due to lack of pressure to close the valve), Steve decided to turn on the furnace. Well that zapped what power was left in our batteries, so he had to go out and start up the generator. Sorry boondocking neighbours...it was only 6:00 a.m. But it wasn't long until we heard Ray and Deb's generator start up...they had the same plan to warm the rig up!

Some hot air balloons drifted over...brrr, it must have been cold in them this morning! Steve took this picture from inside our rig...
Today was pack up day...after ten days of boondocking in this fabulous spot, it's time to  move on tomorrow. We lent a hand taking down Ray and Deb's shelter and pulling stakes out of the very hard ground. We also put away our outdoor mat...basically getting as much done today and the final stuff would wait until the morning.

I worked on the blog for a bit and then we had a lovely video call with our son, Rob and our grandsons...including a quick hello from our daughter-in-law, Angie. So good seeing you all...it was our first call since we left BC October 6.

At 3:30 Ray and Steve headed off to capture some sunset pictures...I'll pass this over to him so he can let you know where they went and what they saw.

This was my first experience touring around for sunset shots...
Panoramic view of Munds Mountains from the Airport Saddle...
A few close ups...

Courthouse and Bell in the distance...
The parking lots were packed and there were people everywhere. Ray wouldn't step back any further :-)
Opposite side from Ray overlooking Sedona...

View from the Munds Wagon Trail...

Can you see Snoopy?
He's laying down......
The largest crowd was at the Airport Mesa. It wasn't that enjoyable fighting for a spots to get our photos...

Steamboat Rock is on the far right but from this angle it doesn't resemble a boat...

Coffee Pot Rock (centre right)...
Thanks for the sunset tour, Ray!

They got home around 6:00. While they were gone, Deb and I sat outside in the sunshine...enjoying some wine and cheese. As the sun went down behind the hill, Deb lit the campfire...thanks for preparing it Steve.

Once the sun goes down, it gets dark so fast! We sat for a little longer around the campfire...a nice last night here. Time to move onto new adventures
