Tuesday morning Dennis and Suzanne picked us up shortly before 8:00...we are going to join them on their morning walk. We parked the jeep at the parking lot at Rotary Beach...
And started off through Gellatly Bay Aquatic Park...Dennis and I were ahead of Suzanne and Steve...(Steve had a lot of picture taking to do!!)
It's a great trail that goes along the lakefront...
Some folks have nice docks in front of their homes...
The trail continues in front of The Cove Beach Resort...pretty nice looking spot for a vacation stay!
A beautiful park and playground...
Pasture land with horses. The hillside is still scarred from the 2003 Kelowna wildfires that destroyed 239 homes and forced the evacuation of 27,000 people.
The trail winds around Gellatly Nut Farm...it's actually a Regional Park...
A little history of the area...
Just over an hour later we were back at Rotary Park...after managing to get a picture of us all (camera on the picnic table and timer on), we all climbed back into the jeep and headed over to Dennis and Suzanne's place for breakfast.
Not the best picture of us, but we had a delicious breakfast of Suzanne's famous muffins, fruit, yogurt and of course, coffee...
After breakfast, it was shower time, so Dennis dropped us off back home. About an hour or so later, he and Suzanne were back...and we were heading into Kelowna. This is the bridge over Okanagan Lake into the city...
We stopped at Costco where we all did a little shopping and then we parked near the lake to take a walk all along the beautiful Kelowna waterfront.
No, Suzanne doesn't have a new dog...a kind lady offered to take our picture, so Suzanne held the dog leash....
The Casino...
Not too busy at this beach right now, but I guess come the weekend, it will be packed...
The floating bridge we came across in the distance...
Float Plane rides...
You can moor your boat on the man made canal in front of your lakefront condo...
The boats have to go through a lock to get from the canal into the lake...
This boat is waiting to go through...
Very cool...
The marina is huge...
Jet Ski rentals...
Folklore in the area claim to have it's own creature...Ogopogo
Flyboard The Jet Ski pumps water through the hose providing propulsion vertically while you're standing in those boots. Watched a guy learning how on our Cabo trip...
This is a popular water play area for kids...for $25 each, you can let your kids play there for the day! While we were there, the paramedics walked by pushing a stretcher with a young boy on it, heading to an ambulance. Apparently he broke his arm while jumping on the trampoline...
Water Park...
Time to turn around and head back to those tall buildings...
And, of course, stop at the Cactus Club for a bevie and a snack. We deserve it! That was a long hot walk! We've gotten our exercise today!
Back at Dennis and Suzanne's place, we relaxed with more bevies...and then Dennis grilled burgers on the barbecue...excellent! Then it was game time! We learned a new and fun game called LCR Dice Game, 'Left, Centre and Right', normally played with chips...Suzanne was the big winner of the evening, taking all of our quarters (big spenders! We used quarters...not nickels or dimes! LOL)
We took a break and had ice cream for desert...KitKat Drumsticks...yummy!
While eating our desert, we also went out onto the deck to check out the thunderstorm rolling in...even had a rainbow...
A faint second rainbow to the left...
A dark "sheet" of clouds coming down the lake...
Another rainbow down at the other end of the lake...
Around 9:30, we were chauffeured home...thanks Dennis! The end to a busy day! See you again tomorrow!
