Tuesday, March 22, 2022 (Travel to Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, OR)

And yet another gorgeous morning as we leave Turtle Rock RV Resort and make our way back to Highway 101. Lots of blue sky but also sea mist...
Crossing the Rogue River...

Spectacular scenery along the Oregon Coast!

Pretty fancy entrance to this beautiful piece of property...

About 12 miles south of Port Orford we passed the entrance to the Prehistoric Gardens...a popular stop in Oregon's Rain Forest, especially during Spring Break...
Coos Bay...

Coos Bay and North Bend seem to run together...next thing we knew, we were leaving North Bend...
Bridge over the inlet...

Oregon Dunes OHV area over on the left...

Clear Lake, OR...

After a short 2 hour drive, we pulled into Winchester Bay RV Resort. While checking in, she said they had a March special on...stay 2 nights and receive 15% off. So $34.85/night with full-hookups (50amp) Perfect 👍 Much better than the $51.66 we paid last night at Turtle Rock. We made our way to our sites...2 beautiful long pull-through sites. The park is beautifully landscaped with low hedges between each site...
After getting set up, Steve went up on the trailer roof to take pictures...
.Behind us...
After lunch, we headed out for a walk around the point of the peninsula that the park sits on. Just a little breezy!
Instead of cooking tonight, we ordered take-out...the guys drove the short distance to Double D's On The Rocks and picked up our orders of fish and chips...
We knew we were going to like here, so we have already decided to spend an extra night! That will be 3 nights here...the extra night is $41, still very reasonable for such a beautiful park! We will go pay tomorrow!

  2. We love that area too! We stay across the water though in the jetty. Looks like you had nice weather too!

  3. Coos and Winchester Bays are two of our favorite areas over there. I get the fish and chips but no clam chowder?!?!?

    1. Oh don't worry...we had plenty of clam chowder. Just decided for take-out, we'd skip it this time!
