It was a chilly night but we woke to some blue sky. We had our usual start to the day and when we received a text from Dave asking if we wanted to go to the Saturday morning market in the small community of Seba Beach, we said "sure"!
The Seba Beach Farmer's Market is a typical small town market. We wandered around checking out all of the vendors...Leslie and I both picked up some farm fresh eggs ($2.50/doz!) and some baked goods and veggies. Always fun going to a country farmer's market!
After the market, we returned home and got caught up on a couple of things...Steve still had pictures to edit.
Typical of Alberta weather, our sunny day quickly disappeared as big dark clouds moved in...and the wind and rain started just as Dave and Leslie were picking us up for a little more sightseeing of the area.
It continued pouring as we headed east toward Spruce Grove. We turned off the highway to go through the Village of Wabamun Lake...Canada's largest Dragonfly stands on the main road into the village...they have an annual Dragonfly Festival...
The storm had moved in so quickly that it caught some boaters by surprise...it was pretty wicked out there!
We ended up driving out of the storm as we went a little further east...driving through Wabamun Lake Provincial Park...
We drove through some of the campground loops...nice spot but not for us. The roads are narrow and heavily treed. Then we stopped at the huge day use area and got out for a little walk....back into sunshine!
After our little walk-around, we were back in the truck and continuing into Spruce Grove and Grove RV, our destination. When Steve disconnected our power cable at Fort Langley, he noticed that the 50 amp to 30 amp adapter had a burnt receptacle so he wanted to pick up a replacement. While he and Dave headed into the parts department, Leslie and I started checking out all of the motorhomes. It wasn't long before we found the guys joining us...I guess the adapter he was after was a little pricey there.
Once we had finished going through all the rigs on display inside...plus a few fifth-wheels outside...we got back in the truck and started home. There was a TD Bank on the way, so we stopped to get some cash out and as we were heading back to the highway, Leslie noticed The Canadian Brewhouse in the adjacent lot...anyone for a beer? (silly question LOL) So we stopped for a refreshment and snack...
Once back home, Steve set up the barbecue outside while I started on getting things together for dinner....just burgers and salad. Dave and Leslie came over and after a drink or two, it was time for dinner...
It was a beautiful evening, so after dinner, we decided to take a walk through the rest of Phase 3 and into the adjacent Phase 2 of the development. That's our rig through the trees...
It gave us a good idea of what others have done with their RV sites...and what Phase 3 will look like eventually. This guy spared no expense paving his site although he has plenty of grass behind him...
We walked back to our sites along the edge of the golf course. Our sites are at the far end which is hole 8...
...and the end to a great day....
Looks like a lovely campsite.
ReplyDeleteIt is very nice!
DeleteAll the crazy weather and you didn't get to see or hear a good ol' Alberta thunder storm! You still have a few days left. We should have taken pics of the "plumbers kids" in the water at the park haha.
