The sunrises and sunsets are providing a beautiful start and finish to each day lately...just enough clouds to make them stunning!
After breakfast, Steve got started on his chore for today...dump the holding tanks and fill the fresh water tank. He jumped on his quad and rode down to pick up the poop-mobile from Earl. It was a busy day at the sani-dump...instead of going to the closest one, he had to go down to the small "blue-boy" dump because of the line ups at the other one. It was a good two hours before he was finished.
While he was doing that, I finally managed to finish up all of our expense recording, pay some bills and get started on our 2017 budget (perhaps it is better called expense tracking rather than "budget"). It was also one of those days where everything I tried to do just didn't go smoothly. With our new laptop, there are still things that I haven't gotten installed and up and running properly...well, just because we haven't needed them yet. Of course, now that we are here we need our GPS's all updated with the US topo maps for the area as well as the geocaches downloaded. Well, that didn't go smoothly...I might have to call upon a certain neighbour (Earl) for help!
Another thing that went sideways today...I turned the hot water tank back on to re-heat the water for dishes and it didn't ignite. Steve was beside himself...what next!! By this time, it was into the afternoon and I had a dessert to make for our dinner out at Deb and Ray's tonight. So, since it was raining and I just needed to make a quick trip into town to the grocery store, Deb and Ray offered their car...thanks guys! I have to admit...instead of buying all of the ingredients I needed (I couldn't find one), I ended up buying a fresh baked apple pie. Yes, I took the easy way out...
Leaving Steve to figure out what was going on with the hot water tank, upon my return he had it running. From his online research he thinks the thermostat is shot and the high limit switch cut power to everything. It's a manual reset but will not reset until the temperature drops to 110 F.
At 4:00 we headed over to Ray and Deb's for our delayed "New Year's Eve Celebration" together. Deb was sick on New Years and we were camped at a Walmart parking lot. We started with drinks outside...and then Ray opened up a bottle of champagne ...
Tuesday morning we woke up feeling much better than we probably deserved to. That was a wild New Year's Eve...LOL!
Shortly before 10:00, with lunches and water packed in the quad boxes, we headed over to Jim and Barb's. We're taking new friends, Roger and Cindi out for a ride and a little geocaching.
We stopped in the wash near French Creek to check out a cave...and let Cindi and Roger grab some geocaches. Jim inside the cave...
We were exhausted when we got home, so after putting our stuff away, we basically chilled for the rest of the evening. It was an early night...after the "wild" one we had last night!!
