Wednesday, March 19, 2025 (Palm Springs, CA - PART 6, checking out downtown and our final afternoon at the pool)

Today is our last full day in Palm Springs...geez, already?! Amazing how fast the week has gone by! We decided to checkout downtown this morning, so we headed out just after 10:00. After parking on East Tahquitz Way just before Indian Canyon Drive, we walked up to Palm Canyon Drive and started our wandering.

Statues on the left...

This is a miniature statue of Marilyn Munroe outside of one of the shops, we'll see the real thing a little later...

This was outside a store but I can't remember the name of it...Isaac thought it was pretty cool!

Note the couple dining on the balcony...

Tourist information area...McCallum-Adobe Museum, History Tours, Walking/Biking Tours, etc...

Just a few of the ones we saw on both sides of the street...

At 11:30 we decided to have dessert before lunch...Ice Cream at Ben and Jerry's! Delicious!
From there, we walked towards Museum Drive in search of the big Marilyn Monroe Statue. These courts were below ground street level...interesting...
There she is!
Forever Marilyn...we had looked for it the other day while driving but hadn't been able to find it. Steve did a little more research and found that it wasn't too far from where we were at Ben and Jerry's...

Walking back towards our car, we found this cool courtyard that connected to the street we were headed to...
She almost disappears when you see her from the front...
Angela testing out her new wings...
An Astronaut...
And that concludes our tour of downtown Palm Springs! We went back to the condo, had lunch and then went down to the pool for one final time.

  1. Sadly, after our generation, no one will even know who those people with the stars in the sidewalk are!

  2. Downtown Palm Springs is so interesting to walk through. We went into a lot of antique shops while we were there last for Ray to buy things for his Christmas Village.

    1. Glad we decided to it check out, a lovely area! We wanted to go to the night market but it's only Thursday nights. The timing was wrong since we arrived and left on a Thursday.
