Thursday, March 20, 2025 (Palm Springs, CA - PART 7, Goodbye to the Oasis Resort)

Our last morning at The Oasis...sigh... We've had such a wonderful week and the bonus was that the weather turned out far better than originally forecast! So nice spending time with Chris, Angela and Isaac...great memories were made. Now, if we are able in the future, we'd love to do the same again, but include our other son, Rob and his family. We'll all have to start saving! Maybe Mexico next time?

Steve and I decided to have a final walk around the resort. We have a birds-eye view of the legendary Bob Hope's home up on the hill...

Some of the units are privately owned and are available for rent. This was posted on a number of garage doors...

The entrance up to the office...
One of the eight pools...
Several fountains...

End of the walkway...

We had to be out of the condo by 11:00, so we had to drop Chris, Angela and Isaac off at the airport first, then go back to pick up our luggage. Of course, the traffic into the drop-off area was crazy...but as soon as we reached the sidewalk approach to the terminal, we all jumped out, they grabbed their cases out of the trunk, we gave a quick hug goodbye...and left them. At least they had lots of time to battle the crowds at check-in (apparently it took them over an hour to get through!)

We managed to get back to the condo and load our stuff into the car and were back at the office just before 11:00...goodbye, The Oasis, we had such a good time!
We made our way out to Coachella Lakes RV Resort, emptied the contents of the car...got everything more or less put away and then drove to Indio to drop the rental car off. A fellow from Enterprise was good enough to drive us home. Not wanting to waste the beautiful mid-afternoon sunshine, we quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed to the pool.
Steve...
...and hot tub...
A very beautiful resort...maybe next time we'll be able to spend more time here.
Me on the right...
By the end of the day a lot of RV's arrived filling the area we were in. The fellow at Enterprise said the Indy Car Series was holding it's inaugural Thermal Grand Prix car race.
.
We had a wonderful week where great memories were made. Tomorrow we embark upon our journey north...we expect it to take about 5 days. Stay tuned...
