After being away for 10 days, we basically had no food in the trailer! So Saturday (June 27) was a big restocking day for me. We did manage to get out for some exercise in the morning, walking Millard trail. Steve spent the afternoon editing all of the pictures taken while we were away.
Sunday morning (June 28), after a walk at Nymph Falls Nature Park, I worked on a blog update until it was time to go to "Sunday Services" at the Gladstone Brewery. This beauty was parked in the parking lot...
Monday (June 29) we took care of some errands, checked on our little trailer in storage and then went for our walk. We parked at the Airpark but instead of walking it, we took the path going in the other direction towards downtown. Our goal today was to check out the new 6th Street pedestrian bridge that was recently completed and opened.
As you can see, it is a block away from the 5th Street Bridge (or Green bridge) that is a vehicle bridge that also has two pedestrian walkways. There has been quite the controversy over the need for this bridge, not to mention the $11.1 million spent of it.
Tuesday morning (June 30), we fasted (no coffee, ugh!) and went to the medical lab at 8:00 for routine blood tests that our doctor had ordered. We were there about 15 minutes early and stood in line with other folks waiting for it to open. We were fifth in line and once the lab opened, it didn't take long before we were on our way home for some much needed coffee!
After lunch, we were able to finally walk down to the lower level of the campground that had been closed, and then continue on to the river. All the work on the sites down there is finished and it opened last week.
The river is super low...

Once the parade was over, we battled the crowds to get back to our car and went home for lunch before going back to Lewis Park (across the 5th Street bridge)...

At 1PM we set 4,000 ducks loose in the river at Condensory Bridge. They then race towards the finish line at the 5th Street Bridge, where our Duck wranglers will fish them out of the river. The first thirteen ducks to make it past the finish line are the prize winners. We stood on the bridge with a ton of other people watching for the ducks to appear but they were taking too long, so we decided to go to Lewis Park and check out the festivities.
This is the map posted on the events webpage...

Thursday morning (July 2) we woke to rain and it remained cloudy and dull all day with intermitted showers. While I did laundry, Steve watched YouTube videos on tying flies and after a trip to the local fishing store, he got started on his creations! He's getting ready for our trip to Cluxewe Resort where we will be fishing from shore for Pinks (salmon)...
Ta Da...a start!Friday (July 3) was a mix of clouds and sun...and not a very eventful day. We mainly worked on this blog update.
And that's it for now!
