Saturday, April 30 to Monday, May 16, 2022 (Peace Arch RV Park, Surrey, BC)

Well, the last couple of weeks have flown by...and have been pretty uneventful. Day in and day out...filled with daily walks, shopping, laundry, cleaning... you know, routine...just the usual stuff. Oh, and rain...plenty of cool, rainy days. There have been a few hours here and there of sun peaking through, but they have been few and far between.

Chris, Angela and Isaac came out for a visit and dinner on Sunday (May 1). We had a great visit and but no pictures were taken.

The following Sunday (May 8) was Mother's Day. After a video call with Rob, Angie, Conner and Bryce, we headed over to Chris and Angela's. They had invited both us and Angela's parents, Lucy and Luigi, for lunch. Angela's Nonna also joined us...so good seeing her after so long!

Angela made T-Shirts for us...me, Angela, Lucy and Isaac...aren't they awesome?!
We had a wonderful lunch and a great visit. Left to right around the table...Chris, Isaac, Angela, Lucy, Nonna, Luigi and me...
All-in-all...a fabulous Mother's Day!!

Our grandson, Bryce, also had a birthday...we had a video call and joined in for the traditional singing of  "Happy Birthday" and watch him devour a piece of DQ Treatzza Pizza!
Saturday (May 14) we were up and out early...leaving at 7:45 heading to Chris and Angela's. We all have tickets for Jurassic Quest which is being held at the Vancouver Convention Centre downtown. Our tickets are for an entrance at 9:30. Although the tickets were expensive, we thought it would be fun for Isaac who loves dinosaurs. Isaac is so excited...

Didn't know there were fury dinosaurs...

She was encouraging the kids to come and pet the baby dinosaur...
After a minute or two Isaac had the courage to get closer...

They had a section with fossils...

There were lots of additional activities for the kids for an additional cost!

The marine section...

The displays were nice and geared more for kids in our opinion, so very disappointing because of the cost. Adults "AND" kids $27.50 each, seniors $22.00 each, plus a $35.00 service fee that we don't recall seeing on the website, and taxes for a total of $183.00 for the five of us!!! A few years ago we visited a magnificent dinosaur museum in Alberta for far less money, the Royal Tyrrell Museum

Next door was the Olympic Cauldron built for the 2010 Winter Games. It's only lit for special occasions now...
We're headed to the Tap and Barrel for brunch, a little to cold and wet to sit outside today...
But first we had to check out the float plane base and harbour traffic...
There were two cruise ships in port...
Looking back towards the Olympic Cauldron...
Okay...time to eat...

Isaac wanted to see the Orca (Killer) Whale...
Back at Chris and Angela's, Grampa and Isaac had a little play time before we headed home...
It rained all day Sunday (May 15)...so it was an inside day. We did managed to get out for a walk briefly between downpours...but that was pretty much it. We worked on a blog update and some odds and ends.

Monday (May 16) was a little nicer weather-wise...brief bit of rain in the morning then the sun actually came in and out in the afternoon. I did laundry, Steve washed the car, pretty exciting....LOL!

  2. Love your T-Shirts! Nice celebrations. We did that dinosaur exhibit in AZ and didn’t care for if either. Definitely a kid thing. We paid more than you and the indoor exhibit looked nicer than the Covid drive through we did. 😄
