Saturday, April 2 to Sunday, April 17, 2022 (Peace Arch RV Park, Surrey, BC)

Our first couple of days home were spent grocery shopping, doing laundry and cleaning...nothing exciting, just the usual getting settled.

Monday (April 4) was a busy "visiting" day. Steve's Uncle and Aunt (Gordon and Esther) from Edmonton, Alberta had just spent a month in Victoria and stopped in Vancouver to visit family before flying home. The only opportunity to see them would be for an early lunch today, so we picked them up from the King George Sky Station and drove the short distance to Brown's Social House. We had a fabulous time catching up with them...
And then we had to race home to be back by 1:00 when my brother and sister-in-law (Dennis and Suzanne) were scheduled to arrive. They had been visiting family and friends on Vancouver Island and were stopping for a couple of days with us on their way back to Kelowna.

Tuesday (April 5) was a blustery day. We all piled into our car and went out for a little sightseeing. We started at Elgin Heritage Park and walked the pathway around the Historic Stewart Farm...
Then we continued to Crescent Beach...and one of our favourite walking spots. Unfortunately it was just too windy and cool to enjoy a  walk along the waterfront...
Next up was a drive along the waterfront to White Rock and lunch at The Boathouse. We had a great window table overlooking the ocean....
And the view out of the window... (thanks for the pictures, Dennis and Suzanne)
After a quick stop back home, we headed to Chris and Angela's place in Coquitlam. It had been awhile since Dennis and Suzanne last saw them and Isaac. Chris had taken the day off, so that worked out well. Chris and Isaac showing Uncle Dennis the backyard...
Chris and Isaac with Dunkin, looking cute with his doggles on!
We enjoyed a great feast of Chinese Food for dinner...
We had a great visit...so wonderful seeing them "in person" after being away for 4 1/2 months!

Wednesday (April 6) morning Dennis and Suzanne packed their car and were off. It was cozy with them staying with us in our small quarters but we made it work! As we are early risers we gave them our bedroom and Steve and I slept on our double-high queen airbed in the living room. I had the best sleep that I've had in a long time!! So wonderful seeing you both again!

After they left, we decided to go to Crescent Beach. We had a great 3 km walk along the waterfront and back...the weather was much nicer than yesterday!

Our afternoon was spent taking care of a bunch of odds and ends. I also continued to line up appointments for when we go over to Victoria  April 18.

Roland and Carol (who we met here in the Spring of 2020) had arrived back from their winter in southern Texas and were staying here for a week before continuing home to Vancouver Island. We managed a happy hour with them...great catching up!
The next week was filled with all sorts of "stuff"....daily walks, shopping, laundry, picture editing and blog updating. Unfortunately, it is going to be awhile before we are completely up-to-date.

Thursday (April 7) we both went in for our second shingles shot. They said we might feel achy afterwards and boy, were they right. Not only were our arms sore at the injection site but we woke up Friday morning (April 8) feeling very tired, sore and achy...we had a very, very slow start to the day! But after hot showers and Advil, felt much better.

We even managed a walk at another one of our favourite walking places...Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park.
Saturday (April 9) and Sunday (April 10) were cool windy days. We're having some crazy weather...sun, hail, rain and sun again! Even thunder!

Chris, Angela and Isaac came out for a visit and dinner. They brought Isaac's bike so he could practice riding it...or perhaps I should say learn how to ride it. He always wants to look down at his feet instead of watching where he's going...too funny but after a few loops on the roads here inside the park, he was doing much better.
Fun in the playground too!
They headed home just before 8:00...a great visit with them!

Monday (April 11) Steve took his drone up and got a video of the RV park and area...

More cold, wet weather as a cold front continues through bringing below normal temperatures and even snow to parts of the Greater Vancouver area and Vancouver Island...absolutely crazy for April!

Saturday (April 16) afternoon we headed into Chris and Angela's place for a visit and dinner. Isaac opening his Easter gifts from Gramma and Grampa...

Playing cars with Grampa...
We left about 8:00 after a great visit and fabulous Easter Dinner...thanks Angela and Chris!

Sunday (April 17) was pretty routine as I did laundry and Steve got the suitcases out of the storage bay. We are heading over to "the island" tomorrow for a couple of weeks of family, friends and appointments!

  2. Great to see your drone video for Peach Arch Park. It sure is an oasis amongst the farm lands. Seems to be the only place that has lots of trees.

    1. They have actually just started cutting down some of the trees and will be replacing with hedges between the sites. I guess some of the interior trees have gotten too tall.

    2. I guess they have trimmed them as much as they can from encroaching the sites and probably complaints for satellite TV lol
