Sunday, April 21 to Sunday, April 28, 2013 (North Saanich, BC)

Well, our final week at Rob and Angie's place was very busy.  I had four different medical appointments throughout the week, Steve had two...he also took the ATV's in (again) for more work...and I worked on getting our Mexico blog done.  That was quite the job...neither one of us thought that we had really taken all that many pictures during the two weeks we were down there but when I downloaded them, there were over 500!  Steve managed to dwindle them down to 387...sheesh!

Aside from all that "stuff" we had to get done this week, the most important thing we did was spend time with our grandson, Conner.  He had grown so much in the two weeks we were away...and really changed a lot since we first arrived.  Steve still had his cold hanging on so he didn't want to get too close to Conner.  He is very annoyed with this cold...as the plane was descending, he could feel the pressure building in his right ear but he couldn't get it to "pop", so he has had a plugged ear ever since.
Here is Conner modeling the hat Steve and I brought back for him.  We got it at a little shop in Puerto Morelos and I was worried it would be too big for him...well, it barely fits him (I suggested we return it for a size larger but Steve didn't go for it...haha)...

We went out for breakfast, so he dressed his best...such a stylin' dude...

And later on that afternoon, it was time to work on some neck strengthening...I love this picture...

Steve, Angie, Conner and I managed to get out for a walk along the Sidney waterfront.  It was a beautiful day...so nice to get out for some fresh air and exercise.

Mount Baker, in Washington State, is really clear today...

The late afternoon sunshine made it nice to sit outside on the deck...

Wednesday we were really happy to re-connect with some old friends...it had been ages since we had seen Joel and Gaynor Thompson.  We met for lunch and then went back to their place.  They have acreage in a more remote suburb of Victoria called The Highlands...a beautiful spot...

Friday, Steve and his buddy, Rob Cawsey, went to the Victoria Fish and Game Club.  Steve wanted to line in his rifle for hunting season...and of course, they just wanted to fire off some rounds...Rob is a retired Saanich cop so he brought up a couple of pistols.

Saturday, Steve joined Rob (Cawsey) on a drive up island to Campbell River. Rob wanted to visit a fellow who makes model airplanes. Quite amazing...such talent...

Sunday morning we went out for breakfast with Rob and Nancy Cawsey...great friends!  So good seeing them.   It was one last chance to see them before we head over to the lower mainland tomorrow.

The rest of the day was spent packing everything up...Steve arranging and packing things into the truck and me packing suitcases and doing some final loads of laundry.

We enjoyed our last cuddles with Conner...sure going to miss the little guy!  We leave tomorrow morning...heading back to Langley to pick up our fifth-wheel out of storage and then to Fort Camping, Brae Island Regional Park, Fort Langley.
