Saturday and Sunday, January 7 and 8, 2017 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

We woke to a beautiful Arizona sunrise Saturday morning. It ended up being a cool, cloudy day for the most part but the forecasters are saying it is supposed to reach 70F/21C tomorrow and continue in the mid to high 60's for most of the week. It's that cooling wind we can do without!

The mountains to the west as the sun comes up...

We thought it was about time we got back into our resistance exercises, so after our usual coffee start to the day, we did that. After showers and breakfast, it was time to get to work. The wheels on the truck were pitted from the road salt up north...Steve wasn't very happy about that, so got to work on trying to polish them out. He spent most of the day working on them, getting the two back ones done...the front will have to wait until tomorrow.
I went with Deb into town to pick up a couple of groceries and once back, got dishes done and things cleaned up inside...then it was my turn to "get to work". I have a bunch of work to do on our budget but first of all, I decided to get the blog updated. Deb popped over for a short visit, and before I knew it, it was time to get ready for our 'Welcome Happy Hour'.

Fellow RV Dreamers Susan and Guy are in town, so we had invited them out...along with two other couples (also Dreamers) had just arrived yesterday...Les and Sue (Bigboomer) and Allen and Donna (The Fergs). January is the season when folks re-group here in Q...good to re-connect with everyone!
Starting on the left with Susan (standing), Ruth, Dale, Sue, Les, Steve (and Nancy are friends of Allen and Donna's), Allen, me, Ray, Deb, Barb, Jim, Guy, Donna and Nancy...

We had a brilliant sunrise this morning...and the day ended with a gorgeous sunset, although this is the tail end of it...

We really enjoyed visiting with everyone...so nice re-connecting with old friends and meeting new ones!

Sunday morning, Steve was back outside...before going into town to check the vendors out, he wanted to finish what he started yesterday, the front wheels on the truck. While he was doing that, I cleaned up and puttered around inside.

A couple of hours later, Steve was all done...and Deb and Ray picked us up and we headed into Q. We decided to check out some of the new fifth-wheels on display...we were really impressed with the floor plans of the Solitude and Momentum by Grand Design. It's the first time we have seen a floor plan that we like as much as our current one.

Then it was time for beer and a burger at Beer Belly's Adult Day Care...

Country musician...
It was getting quite busy...
Ray and I were waiting in for the the restrooms to free up and I couldn't resist taking this picture...
After lunch, we wandered around checking out the vendors...Steve and I ended up buying two new anti-gravity chairs to replace our very old ones. We've been wanting to replace them for quite some time but hadn't been able to find any that we liked. These were exactly what we were looking for and the price was good, so we went for it.

We were back home shortly after 3:00. We put our sunshade up (we're being optimistic) and Steve got everything set up in preparation to dump the tanks tomorrow...while I hopped on my quad and took the garbage down to the bins. When that was all done, we relaxed for a bit in our new chairs and then grabbed a cocktail and walked over to join Ray and Deb by their campfire.
Deb and Ray's neighbours, Marty and Tina joined us...
About an hour and a half later, we called it an evening and headed home. We had dinner and then settled in for the rest of the evening in front of the TV watching our favourite programs.

Although the sun never fully broke through the light cloud covering and the temps didn't reach as high as they were supposed to, it was still a great day here on the desert!
