Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, February 24, 25 and 26, 2016 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Wednesday morning instead of doing laundry, I was coaxed into going to another line-dancing class. So at 9:45, I headed over to Pam's and joined "the girls" in a morning of exercise...that's what I've decided to call it since my uncoordinated movement nowhere resembles dance. Today I even had the instructor come from the front of the class to my back corner spot and give me personalized instruction...and another class member offered to meet through the week for tutoring...okay? get the picture of just how bad I am? LOL! But having said that, it was two hours of absolute hilarity, laughing so much (at myself) that I was practically crying! Thanks for talking me into going to one final class...it was a blast!

While I was gone Steve worked on the trailer roof again. He started just before I left and by 12:15, when I got home, he was just finishing up.

Before heading in for a shower, I helped Steve put the awning and sunshade back up...the strong wind we'd had for the past couple of days had finally subsided and it was going to be a warm day. So the rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing outside.

At 5:30 we wandered over to Jim and Barb's...they had invited us out to the Grubstake for dinner to thank us for watching Daisy. The Grubstake has an "old bar" atmosphere with plenty of personality. All sorts of things, including money, stapled to the walls and ceiling. This is a shot of ceiling...

Barb and Steve ordered fish and chips while Jim had calamari and I had popcorn shrimp (both with chips too)...tons of food and all very tasty. Thanks for a great evening out, guys...we really enjoyed it! (but you really didn't need to buy us dinner...watching Daisy those few times was my pleasure and certainly not a tough job!)

Before leaving the area, we wanted to get one more day of geocaching in...so Thursday morning the six of us (Red/Pam, Jim/Barb, Steve and I) headed out on our four-wheelers to catch a string of caches about 10 miles north of us.

Our first hunt was at the site of an old well...a very cool spot and had we not been geocaching, we probably would never have found it (another reason why we love geocaching).

However the geocache proved to be elusive...Steve and I were soon joined by the others and all six of us hunted and hunted, but could not find it. We finally decided to "call it" and continue on...darn! We'll have to give it a try another time.

Red and Pam must have known that Steve and I were getting close to finding our 1000th geocache and had packed some adult beverages to celebrate. Well, we reached (and passed) that landmark today and stopped on the trail on our way home for a celebratory bevie! Thanks guys!

We got home at about 3:00...another great day out on the quads! After getting cleaned up, we relax inside...I logged our finds on geocashing.com while Steve read his book.

At 5:30 everyone started gathering at Greg and Cori's...tonight the RV-Dreamers group is having a "Big Bang Theory Party".  We started with drinks...and food...lots of food...

 And at 7:00 Greg turned on the outside TV and we gathered around to watch the 200th episode of The Big Bang Theory...

Friday was pretty much a chore day...after exercises, showers and breakfast, we loaded the dirty laundry into the truck and headed off into town. Steve dropped me off at the laundromat then went to get our drinking water containers filled.

Once home, I got started on hanging the laundry on the line to dry and Steve filled the fresh water tank in the trailer. After a bite to eat, I continued with chores around the trailer and Steve cleaned the truck cab....then we managed to sit out in the shade for a bit. It was a hot day with temps into the low 80's.

At 4:00 Jim and Barb popped over and joined us for a bevie...followed by a visit from Pam...and then Brian. By this time it was after 6:00 and time to go in for dinner.

We're down to our last few days here at Quartzsite...so we'll be busy cleaning and packing up. We leave Tuesday for a few days in Yuma before starting our trek back north to BC.

Tuesday, February 23, 2016 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

This morning at 10:00, Pam and I headed out on a walk, picking up Barb and Daisy as we started out. It was a beautiful morning, but a tad bit chilly to start...however, more wind is forecast for the day. After a good 45 minute walk, we were back home...I really enjoy getting out for a good walk like that but for some reason, I just haven't gotten out as much as I usually have in the past.

Since there was a strong wind (or "breezy" as the weather service describes) we didn't have the awning or the sun shade out, so I sat out for a while crocheting with my back to the sun. Steve's buddy popped by again for a visit...he certainly isn't shy!

At about 2:00, Steve headed off with Red and Harry for a third attempt to visit Gunny's Military Museum. It's run by a husband and wife team however he was still out of town visiting his sick mother so it still wasn't open. Instead, they went to check out an unusual car lot near Love's Truck Stop that houses a bunch of vintage vehicles, planes, helicopters and a WWII half track...so I will pass this over to Steve to talk about the pictures...

For the most part, I spent my afternoon crocheting (yes, I'm on a real crocheting kick lately!). We have some RV-Dreamers returning today...plus some new visitors as well. Greg and Cori were the first to arrive shortly after 2:00...followed by Lee and Tracy a couple of hours later, and the new-comers, Bill and Kelly (Jerseygirl64).

Around 4:30, Steve took his truck over to park by Red and Pam's place...to act as a wind block for the wiener roast this evening. There were nineteen RV-Dreamers at the gathering...starting from bottom left, Lisa, Dino, Harry, Vicki, (Steve), me, Pam, Red, Barb (with Daisy), Jim, Lee, Tracy, Bill, Greg, Cori, Rick, Mario, Ellen and Kelly...

Greg and Cori were deep in conversation with Bill and Tracy, meanwhile Hobie had his head in Gregs glass finishing his drink for him...too funny!

After dinner, Lee got a fire going and we all moved over to sit around the campfire...

Just before 8:00, I decided to call it a night and headed home...Steve followed about a half hour later. We ended our evening with a Skype call from our youngest son, Chris and his wife, Angela in Vancouver. They are doing well and are getting excited about taking possession of their first home together. They have plans for a few renos before they move in...and they are even going to have a bedroom for us when we visit! Great talking to you both...a great way to end our day!

Sunday and Monday, February 21 and 22, 2016 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Sunday we decided it was going to be a "doing nothing" day...and that is honestly what we did! We spent the afternoon outside...Steve reading and I was crocheting.

At about 4:30 Jim, Barb and Daisy wandered over with a cocktail and joined us. It sounds like their Alaska adventure is really coming together...very excited for them, wish we could do it again! Since they will be coming up to the Victoria/Vancouver area, we are looking forward to showing them around our bit of paradise. Red and Pam also ventured over for a quick visit and a short while later, everyone headed home for dinner. 

At 7:00 we went over to Earl and Allison's for an evening of Rummikub. We played six games...we all won one each and then the guys each won another, so they were the big winners of the night! 

Monday morning Steve made a trip into town to run a couple of errands...propane and some more supplies for another maintenance job on the trailer. While he was gone, I showered and cleaned up inside and then went over to take Daisy out for a walk. Jim and Barb, along with Dino and Lisa, have gone on a day trip to see Joshua Tree National Park.

Back home, Steve replaced the old trim insert along the fifth-wheel overhang that was pulling away from the trim...

This was his easiest repair so far this season...

As predicted, the wind started late morning...and it was a very gusty afternoon. Since the wind was coming from the north/northwest, we managed to sit outside (reading and crocheting) with the awning and sunshade up, but eventually, the gusts just got a little too strong and we took the shade down and put the awning in.

Steve made another run into town later in the afternoon with Red this time. And I spent my afternoon between crocheting and taking Daisy out...and looking in on Moose and Journey (Lisa and Dino's cats).

At 4:00 Red and Pam came over and we had happy hour inside...Jim and Barb also joined us once they got home from their day trip.

Steve grilled burgers on the barbecue for dinner...and then we settled in for an evening of TV. Tomorrow is supposed to be another windy day. Hopefully it dies down like it did late this afternoon so that the wind is not a problem with the wiener roast Red and Pam are planning...three RV-Dreamer couples will be arriving. Lee and Tracey and Greg and Cori are returning, along with Bill and Kelly, their first time to Quartzsite...more RV-Dreamers to meet!
