Sunday, December 27, 2015 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

We woke to clear skies and no wind this morning...but our outdoor thermometer said it was a chilly 35F/2C out there. We are going through a cold snap over the next week with overnight lows dipping below freezing and daytime highs in the low 50'sF (10C). Glad we have our propane heater to keep the trailer warm.

After breakfast we decided to get some exercise so headed out for a brisk walk. There was enough of a breeze that as we walked west, it was pretty chilly (should have had a toque on to keep my ears warm) but on the way back, it was very pleasant.

We stopped in for a chat with Ray and Deb...they invited us to go into town to check out some of the places along west Main Street. Steve had some work to do this morning, but I was good to go after I did the dishes and cleaned up a bit.

So after a chat with Sue on our way home, I quickly got my work done while Steve got started on emptying the holding tanks....using the new macerator pump. Hey...this one works!

I was ready to go when Deb and Ray picked me up at 11:00. We stopped at the vendor that had made Ray a walking stick...carved out of a willow branch, very cool...and then we checked out Gem World as well as a few other shops.

Two hours later, I was back home...just as Steve had finished filling up the fresh water tank. We had lunch and then Ray dropped off their vacuum cleaner (thanks, Ray!) so I could try it out on our carpets. I really don't like the job our built-in vacuum does and plan on getting a small portable one. While I did that, Steve gassed up the generator and quads.

With the work for today done, we relaxed for a bit until it was time to go down to Ray and Deb's for happy hour. Since we had the vacuum to return, we drove the truck down...which also served as a wind break from the northwest breeze. Jim and Barb also joined us...

We enjoyed a couple of hours in the late afternoon sunshine and as the sun went down, we had a beautiful sunset...but it also got quite chilly! Time to call it a day...

Can't beat the spectacular Arizona sunsets!

The temperatures are forecast to dip to 24F/-4.4C...brrr...
