Sunday, October 18, 2015 (Antelope Island State Park, Salt Lake City, UT)

After the rain last night, we woke to broken skies...there were ominous looking clouds still hanging around but at least bits of blue sky was popping through. This is the view from our side window looking west out over the lake...
A great picture of our camp...our rig on the left, Jeremy and Lena's in the middle, and Trace and Stefanie's on the right...

It was after 10:30 by the time we were ready to go out and do some more exploring...but before leaving, we went over to say goodbye to our neighbors.  On the left are Trace and Stefanie (in red t-shirt) and their four kids...on the right are Jeremy and Lena (holding Kayla) and their five kids (sorry kids, no way I can remember all of your names, lol). Thanks for all your hospitality...you were great camp neighbors! It was a pleasure meeting you all!

Our first stop this morning was Buffalo Point...and a hike up to the top. The trail is not all that long but it's quite a hike up!
And up we go...some pretty dark clouds looking that way...
But lots of blue sky in that direction...

Bridger Bay Campground below...

Pretty incredible views from up here! But look at those ominous looking clouds headed this way!

Quail on a rock...

Our truck is parked down there in the parking lot...
A view of our campground at White Rock Bay...
and our beach...tides out! (lol)
And back down we go...
Almost there!

Our next stop was at Lady Finger Point Trail...way in the distance...
This one would be an easy walk...well, except scrambling over some rocks near the end.

We took a side trail that went up into the rocks...hmmm...that's more than an 8 foot elevation gain!

Then we had to go down to the main trail...
On our way back now...
Back at the parking lot, we found a trail that went down to the beach...

Steve had to stick a finger in the Great Salt Lake!

On our way back to our site, we drove the upper road at the campground to check out the other sites. At the end of the road there is a day-use area for people to bring in their horse trailers and take their horses out for a ride...

We spent the rest of the afternoon at the trailer...Steve went out to put a new end on the 30/50 amp adapter cord. While he was doing that, I worked on our blog.

Then it was 'happy hour'....with our neighbors gone, we have the whole place to ourselves! We watched a big storm coming our way, and 5 deer in the distance passing through, but too far away for photos.

Rain showers in the distance...

Sun rays and showers...

The storm actually seems to skirt around us a bit...but shortly after dinner, the wind and rain began...and we had a thunder and lightning show! Very cool!

Well...we've been watching the weather forecast and it certainly doesn't look that good as we head south. There are thunderstorms forecast for most of the week. We're going to take each day as it comes and depending on the weather, decide when to hit the road. But we are definitely staying tomorrow (Monday) night as well...hopefully, we'll be good to go Tuesday.
