Saturday, January 4, 2014 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

We opened the window blinds this morning to find a cloudy sky...hey, what happened? But for the most part, it burned off as the day went on and it was another gorgeous day.

We had our usual coffee start, did our exercises, showered, had breakfast, did dishes...and were ready by 10:00 to go with Earl and Allison to the QIA (Quartzsite Improvement Association) to the craft sale (held the first Saturday of every month).
We started off by checking out all of the tables set up outside...

All sorts of interesting things.
...and very talented people...

Steve thought these were very cool...

Apparently it takes 18 beer cans to make one of these...

After we finished touring the outside tables, we went inside...

These are very interesting...made out of old pieces of rusted tin can lids, old spark plugs, springs ...basically "garbage"...and very creative! But the fellow got mad at Steve for taking pictures...gee, he was only taking pictures because he thought they were very cool and creative! Must have been top secret garbage...he was the only vendor to take offense.

A couple of hours later, we were back home...time for lunch and then some geocaching. We headed out on our quads at about 1:00...this afternoon we are going to carry-on with the string of geocaches that we had started when we were out on Wednesday. Bob and Sue had placed more and they were now published and ready for finding. But instead of ride our quads to find each cache placed about .11 mile/177 metres apart, we parked our ATV's and walked the desert.

After finding all of the geocaches in one "string", we had a 1.56 mile/2.5 km walk across the desert to the end of another "string" and carried on searching for caches back to where our quads were parked...walking a big triangle...

The cholla cactus are starting to blossom...

That was a long walk across the desert in the sun until we came to the starting point for the next line of geocaches...especially wearing heavy boots and jeans! But we made it!

This cache that Steve found was hanging by a wire at the top of a dead cactus...very tricky, Bob!

And our last geocache bagged! We had found all 24 geocaches and walked about 8.5 kms/5.28 miles.

We were back home shortly after 4:30. Steve and I rode right to Bob and Sue's place to feed Bandit and Coco. Bob and Sue had gone to Lake Havasu for the races and wouldn't be back until a little later so had asked us to feed the dogs for them.  As usual, Coco was guarding the place and wasn't too sure about letting us come near her but she eventually relented and gobbled up her food and even let Steve take her for a short walk. Bandit, on the other hand, was more than happy to see us!

Now it was time to sit outside with a drink...Allison and Earl joined us as the sun went down and we had another spectacular sunset. The end to another great day...
