Friday, January 17, 2014 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

It was another gorgeous day...wow, what a great run of weather (hope I didn't jinks it!)...it has been, and is forecast to be, in the high 70's, low 80's (that's high 20's C). Just awesome...exactly the way we want it!

Yesterday, Earl invited us to go to the big yard sale at Rainbow Acres, a community just southwest of Quartzsite. We were all set to go at 10:00 but what we didn't realize was that we would be taking our ATV's...oops...we quickly changed and were ready. Earl and Allison, Eric and Janet (Earl's brother and sister-in-law), and Steve and I, all set off at about 10:15.

Once we made it to Rainbow Acres, we stowed away our helmets and drove up and down the streets stopping at the places with tables out displaying their goods. Not a lot of stuff that we were interested in but Eric and Janet managed to find a few things. We found that driving along the streets seeing the yards was really interesting. It is really a very nice little community...

Eric and Janet checking out an old army jeep...
Beautiful yard!
An old Army motorcycle...

Good sized lots...for sale...

After a couple of hours, Steve and I had had enough and decided to head back home. The others decided to stay a little longer and check out more yards.

Although we missed a turnoff out of Tyson Wash, we managed to find our way home. We had a bite to eat for lunch and then Steve got to work putting the air mattress away, transforming our spare bedroom back into a truck box. He also mounted the new mirror that he bought the other day onto his quad. While he was working outside, I was inside doing some work on the laptop...budget, income tax prep...all sorts of fun stuff like that.

As usual, we sat outside and enjoyed the late afternoon sun as it got lower and finally went down behind the mountain. The end to another beautiful day...
