Tuesday, November 12, 2013 (Wine Ridge RV Resort, Pahrump, NV)

Wow, what a beautiful sunrise this morning!  We had our usual start to the day, had a big breakfast and then prepared for our quad ride today.  I packed snacks and water and we headed off on the quads over to the meeting spot in front of the office.

Two separate groups heading out today.  It was about 10:15 when our group left...there were 4 ATV's,  3 side-by-sides, a tracker and a jeep on our ride...
Our ride starts in Wallace Canyon...

Suicide Hill...it's steeper than it looks in the picture...we took the easier trail on the right and the jeeps went around a different route...

 And away we go!...

One more to come up after him...

Once up top it drops off on both sides for a couple hundred yards...

Pine forest and snow ahead in Clark Canyon...
 There's a wild horse!
 Wow!

Into the snowline...
 Lunch time...

We saw 6 deer run down this hillside...they were too quick for a photo.

Looking towards Pahrump...

Charcoal Kilns...charcoal was shipped to the Borax Mines in Death Valley...

People were removing the kiln stones so the area had to be fenced off...
 Very cool!
 Another Pillar...

We rode through several different climate zones...low desert, Joshua Trees, then Pine Forest...

Down we go to Wheeler Wash....

This was such a cool canyon that we rode through...
End of the line for the quads...

 That's a boulder resting above...

Group photo then time to head home...

We were back at the resort just after 3:30...wow, what a great day with great people.  We had a blast! But it was a very dusty ride as there was no wind.  We were just covered!  Time for a shower.

When we were relaxing after getting cleaned up, this fellow flew over.

Our day ends the way it started with a beautiful sky!...
