Sunday, January 13, 2013 (Indian Waters RV Resort, Indio, CA)

We woke to beautiful clear skies...it is chilly out but at least the sun is shining and it's not windy. There has been quite a cold snap going through and Steve is actually wearing jeans and shoes rather than shorts and flip flops.  Dennis, who never ever wears anything other than shorts, had jeans on today.  They are going to be picking us up at 10:00 this morning so we thought we would try to get out for a power walk and see more of the resort at the same time.

It was almost 9:30 by the time we got outside...so it was going to be a quick walk.  Steve took some pictures along the way.  The pool...

...and surrounding area...

Dennis and Suzanne arrived at 10:00 and before we headed off, we said goodbye to our neighbours, Bob and Karen.  They had to leave today because Bob got called back to work tomorrow.  We hope to see them at the RV-Dreams Boondocking Rally in Quartzsite next month.

This morning we are going to The College of the Desert Street Fair in Palm Desert.  On the way in we walked past this very cool display of plants...

Dunkin got a new carrier...something much easier on Suzanne's shoulder than carrying the bag...

We stopped for a bite to eat...Dunkin likes his new carrier; it's right at the table level...

Live music...

We had a great time wandering around the market for a few hours...all sorts of stuff for sale.  I bought a set of bed sheets and Steve got a pair of reader sunglasses.

Dennis and Suzanne dropped us off at home at around 2:30...time for a little rest before dinner.  I did some banking...something, I had been putting off.  Steve did a little reading and then we watched some PVR'd TV shows.

At about 5:30 Dennis and Suzanne arrived...we sat and had a drink before we headed out to the Spotlight 29 Casino for the free buffet. There was a wait before we could go into the buffet so we thought we would play the slots.  Well, during that half hour wait, I managed to win $124 (plus change)...how about that?!

We ate way too much at the buffet and then headed over to the Fantasy Springs Casino to try our luck there.  Steve still had $7 of his original $20 that he needed to spend before he got the promotional $30 to play...me...well, I was already half way through my promotional $30.  I managed to play for a bit and then it was all gone.  Steve on the other hand, was having a bit of a winning streak and ended up playing for quite awhile before he had depleted the promotional $30.  He ended up winning about $49.  So we both had good luck (by our standards) at the casinos tonight!
