Wednesday, April 4, 2012 (Fort Camping, Fort Langley, BC)

After our usual start, we did our exercises, showered, had breakfast and were ready for the day.  We headed out shortly before 11:00 to pick up our bikes.  Although there are still lots of clouds, it’s not raining and it looks like we might even have a few sunny breaks...hopefully, we’ll be able to get a bike ride in today.

On our way through Fort Langley, we were stopped by a traffic officer...we had to wait for a few minutes while a movie scene was being shot in front of a shop along the main street.  The scene obviously takes place in winter because they had even brought in snow...too funny!

The name of the movie is The Christmas Consultant...

The snow...

We picked up our bikes...here is Steve putting them on the rack...

...and then decided to check out a couple of RV storage places in the area.  We need to find a place to store the fifth wheel when we head over to the Island at the end of the month.  The first place we went to, Econo Storage, would work...the spot available was 40 feet with good manoeuvring room for the truck.  After checking it out, we went back into the office to book it and found out that they can only hold a site for 5 days...we cannot book it in advance.  We wanted to book it April 28 for a month...she can’t say if it will still be available then.  With all of the snowbirds returning, RV storage is at a premium...great, what should we do?  Well, let’s go take a look at the other place and see what they have.  We went a short distance to U-Haul only to find that their facility is too small to manoeuvre the rig into.  Hmmm...what are our options?  I think we might have to take the spot at Econo now...for 2 months...rather than wait and hope that it is still available.  We will have to think about this...I called Econo and she was willing to hold the spot until tomorrow.

It was around 1:00 when we got home...it wasn’t raining, so let’s get out for a bike ride!  We rode the trail down to Tavistock Point...

Big homes across the river...they had just started building them last year when we were here...

On our way back, we stopped at the office and spoke to Shannon about the possibility of staying in our site here until the end of the month.  We had been planning to go out to Squamish but at this time of year, it can be pretty rainy...and quite possibly more so there since it is right on the coast.  Before making the decision, though, we needed to find out if our site here was available.  It is...so we’ll talk about it and let her know tomorrow.

Here are some pictures of our campsite...

What was left of the afternoon was spent preparing information for our income tax...specifically summarizing medical expenses/prescriptions...and emailing it over to our financial advisor.  After that was all done, I ran into a problem with our printer.  I wanted to print off the spreadsheet but could not establish two way communication” between the laptop and the printer...sheesh!  I got frustrated trying to figure that one out...it was getting late so it will have to wait for another day.
