Friday, January 20, 2012 (BLM La Posa South Camp, Quartzsite, AZ)

We were up and on our way into Quartzsite just after 9:30 this morning...we wanted to get an earlier start today.  We took the truck this morning because we wanted to take a look at what was on the north side of the freeway, and we also needed to make a stop at the bank for some cash.

That big white tent way in the background is where the RV show takes place...starting Saturday...

It was shortly after 10:00 when we crossed back over the bridge to the south side and found a parking spot...it was already getting busy.  And we were on our way...wandering around as we checked out all the vendors.

Our purchases so far...kettle popcorn and hand cream...

Lots and lots of fancy rocks...

We walked through this "log house"...very cool...

We stopped for a beer...

They even had live (country) music...

Four hours later we had had enough, so we found our way back to the truck...the parking area had really filled up!  We're on our way home...

Back home, we topped off the quads with gas...getting them ready for our ride tomorrow.  After that, I worked on getting our blog posted...on a very slow internet connection...while Steve found some shade outside (it was a hot one out there) and read a magazine.

We were sitting outside enjoying the late afternoon sunshine when both Earl and Doc stopped by...we chatted for a bit and found out that we will head out on our ride at about 10:30 tomorrow morning.  Excellent...we can still have our relaxing start to the day...oh, but its exercise day...I guess what I should say is that we will have time to do our exercises before our ride!

There was a beautiful sunset tonight...

  1. We drove through Quartszite, but never camped there. Enjoy reading about your experience. May have to give it a try some year.
